My company Key Services Amesbury are accredited installers of Response Electronics Wireless Alarm systems. We are based in Wiltshire but also work in Somerset, Hampshire and Dorset. The alarms come in the form of kits such as the SL2 opposite, but they can all be added to, to suit your individual security requirements. The systems use batteries in all the detectors and keypads and the siren/strobe unit has a solar panel to maintain the charge of it's battery. The batteries in the devices will last about year before they need to be changed and they all give an indication when this is needs to be done. The outside Siren/Strobe unit uses a sealed lead acid battery which will last about 3-4 years.
Control for the alarms can be managed in several ways. The Siren unit can act as a panel controlling all the devices and this in turn can be armed/disarmed by means of a remote control fob or keypad or both. A programmable panel as in the SL6 picture below can be used, this does require a mains socket to provide power and a phone connection if you would like the system to call you or other key holder in the event of an alarm activation. As with all the alarm kits that Response sell they can all be added to, as it is unlikely that any of them would perfectly suit your security requirements. Add a remote control, an extra Pir or door/window contact, a Dummy siren at the rear of your property, they look identical to a fully working one with the same flashing led's. If you want a keypad inside your garage or shed or by the back door it is all possible with a Response alarm as there are no wires you can have detection and control where you want it and with no mess or upheaval.
Program Options
The programmable panels like the one in the SL6 below allow for a large amount of control over your system. These telecomunicating panels can be programed to call you or other key holders if the alarm is activated, you can also control the system by dialling into it! With this type of control panel you can also arm different parts of the system ie, the downstairs whilst you are in bed leaving you free to roam around upstairs. You could also just leave your outbuildings armed whilst being in the house , all with the push of a button on a remote. If you have children who get home from school before you get in from work the system can call you when there user code is used so that you know they are home, a clever idea called Latchkey. Multiple users can be programed in so you could also tell what time people get in or leave, maybe a cleaner etc.
